2010 Special Projects

"... But the greatest of these is Charity" (I Cor. 13:13)
Our Lodge has identified two specific areas of Charity to focus on during 2010, aside from our usual Charitable Works.

Masonic Breast Cancer Awareness Pins

Everyone knows at least one person whose life has been changed by breast cancer. It may be a mother, sister, wife, daughter, or friend. Whoever it is, we all know what breast cancer can do to a person’s life, not to mention the lives of those close to her. As one of our charitable missions this year, Samuel Gompers-Benjamin Franklin Lodge has begun to raise money for Susan G. Komen For the Cure, a foundation dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.

To contribute to our mission to help end the pain and suffering in the lives of those ladies who are close to us, please send your checks to Bro. Joshua L. Rubin (for his address, please e-mail him). Checks should be made payable to The Engelberg-Korman Foundation and you MUST write "breast cancer donation" in the memo line. Those who contribute $10 or more to the SGBF Breast Cancer Fund will receive one of these Masonic Breast Cancer Awareness pins. For the sake of our ladies, won’t you please donate?

Building & Dismantling Sukkahs for the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes

Brother Jonathan Cohen will be coordinating the assembly and dismantling of Sukkahs for the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes so each home will share the joy of the Sukkot holiday. When Jonathan asks for your assistance, please make every effort to contribute your time to assist with this most worthy endeavor.  (What is a sukkah?)
