St. John's Mite Association of the District of Columbia

The St. John’s Mite Association of the District of Columbia , organized under the authority of the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia , serves solely to furnish such relief to needy D.C.Blue Lodge Masons in good standing, their wives, widows, and to their dependent children under the age of 18 years.  Assistance may be furnished in the form of food, clothing, shelter, fuel, medical assistance, burial and other means of relief.  Normally relief is limited to matching the value of such relief rendered by the lodge sponsoring the recipient.  The determination of individual need is solely at the discretion of the sponsoring lodge.  The association is comprised of one member from each of the constituent Lodges under the jurisdiction of the Masonic Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia .  Each member is elected or appointed at the annual election of officers of each Lodge and holds the office for a term of one year or until his successor is elected.
